In Attendance:

No Councillor, Police, Community warden or residents attended the meeting.

Meeting opened and everyone welcomed by Chair Clare Stevenson.

Annual Chairperson Report:

 Biggest improvement from last meeting held has been the completion of the path to

Bannockburn which was completed ahead of schedule. It was scheduled to take 16-18 weeks

but only took 10 weeks.

 Community Council have engaged with Councillor McPherson & CISCWO regarding Miners

Welfare Building. Currently in discussions over the possibility of Council purchasing the land or

a private sale and are awaiting outcome.

 Cowie Community Hub is not fit for purpose, It is not being utilised by the public due to limited

opening hours and also limited access to building for Community Council meetings so these

are having to be held in the Community Centre. Community is very disappointed in the Hub.

Secretary Report:

Secretary Mags Hughes gives update on report from last meeting.

 Residents are still complaining about the housing allocation process and want more houses to

be built in the village.

 Complaints still ongoing about the Norbord pollution.

 Residents haven’t made any comments positive or negative on the new path that’s now

complete between Cowie and Bannockburn.

 Residents are complaining that they can’t get the full use of the Library and Hub facilities due

to the Opening times.

 Community have again been giving great feedback on the work the C.R.A.G are continuing to

do within the community following their latest Annual Funday.

Treasurer Report:

There haven’t been many transactions within the account.

Income & Expenditure 2023-2024

Opening Balance: £87.77

Income:

Admin Grant- £593.10

Total: £680.87

Expenditure:

Minute Taking Expenses- £80.00

Closing Balance: £600.87

Community Council owe an outstanding balance of £120 to C.R.A.G for hall hire to facilitate meetings.

4 meetings at 2hrs a meeting and a charge of £15 an hour. Jane Hamill is also owed £40 for minute

taking in a previous meeting.

Actions to be taken:

 Mags Hughes is to email C.C Enquiries for a breakdown in the savings made with the

completion of the Bannockburn path been done ahead of schedule and to ask if the savings

made will then be used towards tidying the existing path from Hope Farm to the Bus Depot. If

the farmer is responsible for this then ask Council to then contact Farmer to get this maintained.

 Community Action Plan to be updated.

All current members stepped down from their positions for re-election to take place. Below is the newly

appointed Community Council Committee members.

25th September 2024 in Cowie Community Centre at 7:15pm. In attendance will be West Fraser, SEPA

and Councillors have also been invited and encouraged to attend.
