Chairperson’s Annual Report

At the end of the year I would like to start by saying it’s been a pleasure to be Chair this year. Croftamie continues to be a wonderful place to live with fantastic , engaged people in our community. The year started with the grand opening of the bridge over the Catter Burn - it’s a case of better late than never and I’m sure we’re all pleased to have the road opened. That has however resulted in more traffic and an unwelcome increase in speeding. We have had meetings with the police and some correspondence with Stirling Council but making progress seems difficult if not impossible. At times I wonder if it will take a serious injury for the situation to be addressed. Other challenges facing the village are the development at Buchanan Crescent which continues to impact the residents on a daily basis. The proposed new development at Pirniehall moves on slowly as does the situation at Dalnair House. The situation at the nursery remains concerning but we as a community are lucky to have a very committed and enthusiastic Community Trust working to save this resource for the village. I like to thank our Stirling Councillors-Rosemary Fraser, Paul Henke and Gerry McGarvey for their help this year. I would like to end by thanking my fellow community councillors Ali, Cyndy, David and Callum for all their hard work this year. Its been a pleasure to work with you.
