CROFTAMIE

Road Traffic

Having received information and following proactive patrols by Officers in the area, a male was traced while driving under the influence of alcohol. The male was arrested, conveyed to Custody and cautioned and charged. The male was released once sober and informed a report would be submitted to the Court.

Incidents of note

A report was received after two vehicles collided on the A81.

Both vehicles were damaged and while the driver of one of the

vehicles was initially trapped there were fortunately no injuries

reported.

  1. Planning Report -AP

Item 1; Dalnair House

application 24//FUL Erection of 1 dwellinghouse

application 24/00640/FUL Erection of 5 houses.

application 23/00392/FUL Erection of 2 dwellinghouses

All planning application action on Dalnair has it is understood been put on hold whilst

the legal matters and developer contributions from the previous applications are

under review between the Council and the applicant (developer)

Community Council letter of concern regarding the lack of progress in installing a

safe public footpath has been logged by the Council planning team.

Councillor Gerry McGarvey asked the Planning Department on behalf of the

Community Council on 11th January for an update. Waiting for a response. (it was

noted that Councillor McGarvey is now the Leader of the Council)

Item 2 Pirniehall application 2022/0329/PPP Large multi-purpose tourist

development

This Application was approved at the planning and access committee on 25th

November 2024. The Application has not as yet appeared as formally approved on

the planning portal.

Item 3 Cattermuir Cottage 2024/0234/DET Change of use of land to garden ground

and replacement of ancillary building.

The Application was approved on January 25

Item 4 Land and Buildings adjacent and South East of Killearn Lodge Killearn

25/00047/PPP

This is an Application for the renewal of planning permission in principle 22/00064/PPP to erect a dwellinghouse, studio and garage. No issues are foreseeable for the Community Council.

  1. Roads Update There was no report
  2. Treasurer Update - Email has been sent to JR Group as a receipt for the £500.

Balance of account is £1636.74. CB has requested £20 to cover the cost of replacing the cat soiled earth in the barrels and pointed out there may be some small extra expenditure to replace some of the soil.

  1. Stirling Council Update There was no report

DM advised that the question of a Visitor Levy was to be discussed by the Council and the Park.

  1. LL&TNP update from David Mackie.

DM advised that the question of a Visitor Levy was to be discussed by the Council and the Park. A Planning Application for a development opposite Balloch House has been refused but now appealed and it has been referred to a Reporter. Even if the Appeal is granted as the Application was in principle it will still come back to the Park for decision.

  1. Correspondence received;

Via Facebook, Stirling Council are to conduct a survey for ideas for dealing with the Council £13m shortfall.

Also regarding School transport there is to be a change of entitlement from 3miles from the School in Drymen to 2 miles. It has to be pointed out there is no safe route to walk from Croftamie.

  1. AOB

CSET grant – applied for funding for gazebos for the community of up to £1600 – we have to find 50%. We have until May for Fundraising- if we could rent the gazebos to the stall holders.

Chris Bilsland will arrange a Coffee Morning on Tuesday March 18th at the But and Ben from 11 -2pm There will be a Raffle,a Tombola and a used book stand. A “just giving” page could be set up.

Money from JR Group to be used to beautify the village but no ideas yet.

HB to discuss further with Callum the concrete for the bench.

The fence at the side of the cycle path needs to be tidied up. A working party in the Springtime was suggested. Some strimming could also be done.

Another working party was suggested for repairs to the roof on the Shed at the Nursery. The situation about the sale to the Nursery was raised and it appears any sale has not been finalised. While the Council own the Nursery the Community has had use of the Shed for years and have paid the local rates. It was noted that the roof of the library has loose cladding. HB will raise that with our Councillor.

CB reported that builders rubbish has been dumped at Dalnair. AP suggested some photos should be obtained.

It was noted that SEPA have been testing the water quality in the Catterburn.

A suggestion was made that the Community should have a plan to assist the elderly and vulnerable during severe weather.
