Item 1: Dalnair House
application 24//FUL | Erection of 1no. dwellinghouses, application 24/00640/FUL Erection of 5 houses, application 23/00392/FUL Erection of 2no. dwellinghouses
All planning application action on Dalnair has we understand been put on hold whilst the legal matters and developer contributions from the previous applications are under review between the council and applicant (owner of Dalnair.)
Community Council letter of concern regarding the lack of progress in installing a safe public footpath has been logged by the council planning team.
Councillor Gerry McGarvey has asked for an update from the planning department 11th January on behalf of Croftamie Community Council. Waiting for response.
Item 2 : Pirniehall Application 2022/0329/PPP Large multiple-purpose tourist development
The application was approved at the planning and access committee at the meeting 25th November 2024. Application has not appeared as formally approved on the planning portal as yet.
Item 3: Liquor License application for Cattermuir Lodge.
Application stated it was for sales in a shop at Cattermuir for consumption offsite. Community council questioned this application. Stirling Council have confirmed the application is for small scale sales to people staying overnight at Cattermuir Lodge and there is no proposal for a new shop, it is just an application for the existing
arrangement. We have also asked for clarity regarding the lighting and signage situation. Still waiting for answer.
It has been confirmed that the applicant did not advertise the site notice within the correct time and an amended site notice has been issued. Closing date for objections is 25 March 25.
The application had reference to a shop which had been deleting in the original planning application.
Discussion held around the Neon lighting and AP to check whether these now have permission and whether the new application is to include further lighting.
- Roads Update- CC
20 mph limit is coming to Croftamie – hopefully to be by end of March in this current financial year.
Comment raised to PH that the condition of the A809 (Stockiemuir Road) is very bad and note was taken.
- Treasurer Update Balance of account is £1622.34
Deductions due are Minute takers (£240), Replacement soil (£20), But and Ben Hire (£90). End of financial year is March 31. Decision to be made on £500 from JR Group and funds to be ringfenced to beautify the village.
- Stirling Council Update – PH
Sunday 8th June- VE Day 80th anniversary- PH has request CSET request to give Community Councils to have an event. Stirling is having a March past.
Suggestion that Kilmaronock Kirk could host a community event.
- LL&TNP update from DM
The Quarterly Board meeting was held this week.
New planning application for 65 houses instead of 85 in Drymen is to be discussed at Planning. AP confirmed that application for social housing has been removed from the application.
Consultation by 15th March as part of a wider pilot project to establish a shared Venison larder facility that will help support sustainable deer management in the East Loch Lomond area.
Stirling Visitor levy – drop in day at Drymen Village Hall on Wed 16th April from 11am to 6pm. Q asked what will the funds be used for and the answer was to fund public
services and support tourism. Comment was made that there are no toilets in the area for the tourists.
Trossachs Explorer shuttle bus (from Callander to Aberfoyle) – the Park are trying to get funding to run this bus again this summer as over 5000 people used it last year

Gartmore are supporting the development of Community resilience programme.

Q asked around what’s happening with the Nursery- no response received from Rosemary Fraser (HB to chase).
Q around the pavement and wall on the Main St. CC advised that a temporary repair has been made to the pavement so that a wheelchair can be used. The wall render has to be repaired first.
Robert was thanked for making the repairs to the Community shed roof.
Bench-Stephen to be shown where the site is and concrete base to be poured.
Community Coffee morning-Tues 18th March- 10 til 12. Thanks to the But and Ben for providing the coffee and milk. HB will support collecting the money at the door. Donations for the Tomola and a Book stall required. There is a Just giving page for Community funds.
HB advised that we have received offer of a Grant from CSET for gazebos for up to £1600 but we need to match it. This offer expires in May.
Comment made around Fly tipping in the laybys – this has been uplifted.
Q asked around maintenance of the trees at the Cycle path entrance. It’s been difficult to source the landowner.
Q asked around provision of an information Board at the Cycle path to explain the history of the Railway. AE advised that the Trust have funds for Environmental Improvement and local awareness and this could fit the category. Costings to be obtained. HB to write to Killearn CC and ask where they got their Info boards. Land ownership of the site would need to be established.
HB advised that the AGM would be held on 14th May at 7.30pm.
