Ask your Councillor Councillor Paul Henke stayed with us after AGM and explained that Balfron Bowling Club was hosting a talk by PC Matt McCammon on Scams on 18 June 2024. Councillor Henke also explained that PC McCammon would also be available to deliver the talk on Scams to our community. |

Police Report PC Matt McCammon provided a report for the Community Council meeting, and this is attached. It suggests ways for you to protect your home especially if I am getting work done or going on holiday. |

Village Hall Update Fiona Coleman, Treasurer, Village Hall Committee explained that costs running the Village Hall were running higher than rental income. Several people have already volunteered, including offering help in applying for grants. Many suggestions were made as to grant givers and energy management. |
|||||
Library Update RM setting up a working group with other community groups and organisations to look at funding and planning in 2 phases – First: Now! and Second: medium term. It’s important that Stirling Council is reminded that Drymen has not given up or forgotten about a Library. |

Planning DC explained that there was retrospective planning application 2024/0118/DET for several items. It was recognised that it would be difficult for DCC to support this application. Though it is a local business it is generally recognised that tourism should be able to be promoted without the over-development of a site. In addition, a general comment was that baggage collection vans collecting bags had grown in number in recent years and tend to descend upon Drymen at the same time parking anywhere and everywhere. Regarding Public Consultations, DC explained that provision of services such as Doctors, Dentists as well as schools should be involved. It was stated that a Biodiversity Plan should be carried out and there should be bonds placed to cover costs of upkeeping green spaces and roads etc. and these should be sorted early in case developers go bust. There is a broken tree that is blocking the footpath from Winnock Court to Buchanan Home Farm. SPR to contact landowner. |
