Ask your Councillor Councillor Rosemary Fraser stayed for the DCC meeting. Rosemary advised: • Unfortunately Paul Heinke is unwell and will be off for a while. • Chris Kane has stood down and by special meeting Margaret Brisley was voted as the new Council Leader. • It was useful for the different CCs to join and look at BIG Conversation together in smaller groups. The Budget has just been announced that believes this would be good to look at again, perhaps to focus on more Transport in our area. • Place Plan was mentioned – Richard Boddington (RB) advised the DCDT facilitated Drymen’s Place Plan last year, and public transport came out as the top priority. • Copy of DCC meeting slides to be sent to Rosemary to see the initiatives DCC is involved in – Transport Working Group and attended and fed Drymen’s priorities into Connected Communities Sustainable Transport Session in Gargunock and also a meeting held by Balfron High School who are proposing to purchase a mini-bus which can also be used by local community groups (detailed summaries of these meetings provided in DCC meeting slides) • Winter – if anyone in the community is aware of roads that will not be gritted by the council they should contact the council who will provide a kit to assist and any gritting is covered by Stirling Council indemnity insurance. • A member of the community raised that there still was not a replacement grit bin in Charles Crescent. Rosemary will chase this up. • A member of the community raise that the pavement is falling apart down to the church, from Gartness Road downwards and another person raised the pavement from the Square up to the surgery is bad. SR advised that SC came to look at this. DCC will enquire with SC for an update. • A member of the public raised that SC agreed to remove the island at the bottom entrance into the village (across from Buchanan Arms Hotel), as it was dangerous however, nothing had happened and it had actually been recently repaired. Rosemary asked for details from the relevant DCC meeting to be provided and she will investigate internally.
