Minutes of the meeting held on
12th March 2025

There were no declarations of interest.
III. Approval of Minutes of last meeting
The previous minutes were approved.
- Stir lin g C ounc il lo r’s R eport
Councillor Fraser confirmed that provision at Fintry Nursery will not be cut but
remains on the table. Stirling Council are trying to get this changed. It was agreed
that FCC would set up a sub-group along with Councillor Fraser and representatives
from the Fintry Primary School Parents Council to look into the possibility of full-time
Nursery provision.
Council Tax up by 8.8%
Bin pick up – from old 4 days on, 4 days off. Back to core days of Tuesday to Friday.
This will save money.
Recycling – more management of this on the way.
Visitor tax coming and may be used to help transport improvement in this area.
- Police Re port
No police report had been provided.
- Planning
A retrospective application for change of use of the land for the use of a
woodworking business and ancillary storage; including an improved access, the
addition of hardstanding for parking and the storage of materials and machinery,
and the addition of buildings, including a machine store, workshop, tool stores,
furniture store, and a caravan on land 340M north of Provanston Farm has been
withdrawn.
It was voted on and agreed that the FCC would provide a second letter of support
for the above application when the applicant reapplies.
VII. Finance
The purchase of a printer for the FCC secretary for £80 was approved.
It was agreed that an invoice for £540 would be paid for repairs to the generator at
Knockraich.
VIII. Resilience update
Leaky dams – An application to the Princes Trust Countryside Fund has been
made for funding. Approximately 60 leaky dams are needed.
An open day is planned for the end of May. Other community council resilience
groups will be invited to illustrate what can be done to improve the situation in
areas prone to flooding.
The next priority is to look at the embankment at the back of the Sports Centre
(near the museum) which is being eroded.
The generator at Knockraich is not working. A mechanic is coming to look at it.
The defibrillator at the church which was used recently has been checked and is
fine.
- Roads/paths
The B834 in Killearn from its junction with the A81 to its junction with Lampson Road will
be closed from 0800 hours until 1800 hours from 17-3-25 until 23-3-25 to facilitate
surfacing works.
The B822 in Kippen from its junction with Fore Road to its junction with Glentirranmuir will
be closed from 0900 hours until 1700 hours from 17-3-25 until 28-3-25 to facilitate
drainage works.
Back O’Hill from its junction with Drip Road to its junction with Raploch Road will be closed
from 0930 hours until 1530 hours from 17-3-25 until 28-3-25 to facilitate tree felling
works.
The from its junction with Station Road (Buchlyvie) to its junction with the A81 and the
A875 from its junction with the A811 to its junction with Station Road (Balfron) will be
closed from 0900 hours until 1800 hours from 17-3-25 until 30-3-25 to facilitate
resurfacing works.
A bike race is coming through Fintry on the 7th September. It is a charity event organised
by Chris Hoy. RG is monitoring this.
Work on the extension to Cicely’s Way is still in progress.
- Correspondence
Correspondence has been received regarding a proposed visitor tax.
Garden bin permits need to be purchased by the 14 April.
Correspondence has been received regarding fly tipping. This has been investigated but no
evidence of fly tipping was found.
- Any other business
The FCC noticeboard is away for repair.
The proposed Earlsburn Wind Farm extension has been submitted to the Scottish Office.
The Children’s Garden Party date has been set for the 21st June.
A representative from the Sports Centre enquired about the new lease and why FCC have
appointed a solicitor to deal with this. FCC were advised to do this by Stirling Council.
