Secretary’s report

Thanks to the generosity of the Killin Highland Games a new Defibrillator is now in place.

A walkabout has been organised on 10th July with Robert Fleming, Team Leader from Stirling Council’s Road Maintenance Dept. Elaine Watterson will attend that afternoon at 1.30pm. A. Aitken, S. Inglis, F. Inglis and Charlie Grant will walk through the village and identify what needs to be highlighted. One thing that will be raised is on the South Loch Tay road – from the porter’s lodge to Ardeonaig but the first 3 miles are the worst especially as the trees are encroaching onto the road itself.

Another issue for the walk about – the narrow exit from the Co-op car park round to Main St. Also concern about the speed of cars going through the village. Suggestion was that we consider a cardboard policeman, but this has been tried before with both cardboard policemen ‘kidnapped’. Can the speed limit be reconsidered? A. Aitken said that this would need to be raised at another meeting of the KCC, and duly advertised in advance, as the decision to keep the 30mph speed limit was decided unanimously at a previous public meeting of the KCC.

Anthony Dowling has been approached re the trees opp. Dochart Inn. Trees will be cut back.

A. Aitken has written to the First Minister regarding the necessity for a slip road to Forth Valley Hospital from the A9 heading South.

A. Aitken reported that a member of the public has written to ask for support for proposals to develop a Changing places toilet in Tyndrum. There is nowhere for people with disability to use between Glasgow to Oban.
