MINUTE OF MEETING OF KINGS PARK COMMUNITY COUNCIL
HELD ON MONDAY, 4 NOVEMBER 2024 AT 7.30PM
LIBRARY BASEMENT
Present: Stewart Small (Chair), Willie Ferguson (Vice Chair), Jen McNiven (Secretary), Gary Bell, Jane Saunders (Treasurer) Niall Hamilton- Smith and Maurice Fitzgibbons.
Apologies: Steve Brewster.

- Welcome and Apologies
The Chair welcomed everyone to the meeting. Apologies were as noted above.
2. Minutes of previous meetings
The Minutes of the meeting held on 7 October 2024 were approved as an accurate record:

Written report submitted - no officers present at the meeting.
4. Condolences
Members noting sincere condolences on the sad passing of Councillor Margaret
Brisley.
Members acknowledging Margaret’s dedicated service to Stirling Council and the local communities she represented.
- Matters Arising
a. Sustainable Transport
Members noting that the paths are not being regularly cleared of leaves which is rendering the cycle paths unusable.
Members suggesting that leaf clearance could be part of an ongoing maintenance schedule similar to the bin emptying schedule.
b. Community Council Health Check
Jane noting that the health check has been submitted and feedback is awaited from the Council.
c. Heat Source Pump

Niall noting that progress is being made by the group in obtaining funding to have the relevant surveys carried out to begin the process of introducing heat source pump technology in the area.
6. Chair’s Report
Stewart noting that the community council are keen to remain involved in the consultation regarding the Viewforth development plan.
Councillor Benny noting that there are various stages to the development of the land whereby the community council will be consulted.
7. Secretary’s Report
Jen noting that responses have been received to all 3 letters sent to the Council and these responses will be circulated to all members.
8. Councillor’s Report
Councillor Benny noting that the budget consultation is out for comment and that the budget conversations will be continuing within the Council until February.
Councillor Benny noting rising prescription costs are being taken into consideration when agreeing this year’s budget.
Councillor Neil Benny noting that the council are legally obliged to submit a retrospective planning application for the demolition of the Christie Clock which has to make provision for an amenable replacement and the paper will be presented to the December Council meeting.
