MINUTE OF MEETING OF KINGS PARK COMMUNITY COUNCIL

HELD ON MONDAY, 7 OCTOBER 2024 AT 7.30PM

LIBRARY BASEMENT

 

 

 

Present:

 

Stewart Small (Chair), Jen McNiven (Secretary), Gary Bell, Jane Saunders (Treasurer) Niall Hamilton- Smith and Maurice Fitzgibbons.

Apologies:

 

Willie Ferguson (Vice Chair) and Steve Brewster.

In Attendance:

Councillor Jen Preston, Sharon Marklow (Stirling Council), 2 local residents and Lauren Grant (minutes)

 

 

  1. Welcome and Apologies

 

The Chair welcomed everyone to the meeting.  Apologies were as noted above.

 

2.          Minutes of previous meetings

 

The Minutes of the meeting held on 3 September 2024 were approved as an accurate record:

  1. Police Report

 

Written report submitted - no officers present at the meeting.

 

4. Presentation from Sharon Marklow on Viewforth Development Framework & Planning Statement

 

Sharon Marklow delivered an interesting presentation on the Council’s development plan for the Viewforth site.

Willie Ferguson noting thanks to Angela McGibbon for assistance in the issues raised with speeding/traffic volumes.

 

b. Sustainable Transport

 

Gary noting the Verity House Agreement

 

c. Community Council Health Check

 

Jane noting that documents have been circulated to members with links for community  council training.

 

d. Friends of Kings Park Update

David and Wendy in attendance at the meeting to outline the work of the Friends of Kings Park over the past few years.

 

Noting that the Friends of Kings Park are open to new members and it is hoped that the membership numbers will continue to increase over the coming year.

8.          Planning Report

 

Niall noting the following applications:

 

                -     5 Queens Road: Extension to garage.

 

No objections raised.

10.        Councillor’s Report

 

Councillor Preston advising that Councillor Margaret Brisley is the new leader of the Council.

 

Members noting that the consultation that was issued in relation to budget savings identified savings.
