  1. Welcome

Joan welcomed everyone to Riverside Primary school.

Joan shared the sad news that Ann Graham had passed away. She

was a previous secretary of RCC and did a huge amount for the

community – including running the older adults group.

Positive Story: beavers prevented flooding of the Klabava River,

south of Prague in the Czech Republic

Minutes for March adopted. Fiona Dyet proposed; Fiona Berrow

seconded.

  1. Matters Arising from previous minutes not to be addressed

within the meeting

RCC is deciding how to thank David King for his regular morning

litter picks in Riverside.

Stirling Studios update: Good Progress being made and milestones

reached. Contracts have been awarded for work on refurbishment

of the film studios. Demolition of buildings in the studio side of the

site now complete. Works have commenced on Meadowforth

Road. SC are going to do a full comms piece in May to update

everyone on the project, however the latest is that the project is

progressing well.

Green Space: The residents’ subgroup had a meeting with SC on

24th April.

 Name agreed: Shore Rd Park.

 Details of ownership and liability still to be agreed before we

sign a lease for the ground. Stephen Bly liaising with Council

Depts on our behalf.

 A simplified plan has been drawn up. SC wishes to start the

work in July.

 SC – responsible for hard maintenance and landscaping (paths).

 RCC – responsible for soft maintenance (planting etc).

 Cycle path will go right around the outer perimeter of the site.

 Tree link Stirling to plant and supply a beech/hornbeam hedge

around perimeter.

 Hammerhead parking spaces may be removed and the area

incorporated into the park.

 Network rail area on the left to be untouched at the present.

 Approx. £2000 pay-back anticipated from Jacobs who are doing

the work.

 A water tap has been requested.

 Dedicate a bench to Ann Graham?

Walkabout for RCC members with SB Tuesday on 20th May. Joan

to co-ordinate

  1. Secretary:

o Police Report: 0 crimes 0 reporting

o Old planters from Railway Station being re-housed– 2 still

available

o Giant hogweed has been marked and mapped by Di and Nitish.

Unfortunately it has spread to fresh areas. SC sent contractors

to spray affected areas yesterday. Contractors did not notify

anyone of where or when they were spraying. Children and

animals potentially harmed by the spray.

o Tree link has planted some bird cherry trees in Riverside.

o Outside bowling has started at Riverside Bowling club.

o Garage conducting business on Edward Rd – need to get

photographic evidence if you see them operating.

o No lighting is currently to be installed on Cambuskenneth

bridge

o Fraud awareness message received from police and passed on

via Riverside Whatsapp group

CSET grant of £2,040.00 has come in and been paid out for tree

felling work in OHW

Monthly bank account fee of £4.25 paid

£462.10 in RCC account - £166.36 unrestricted, £165.09 admin

grant, £80 minutes grant. £24.65 left in OHW funds and £26 for

seed grant.

Pop up police officer to be borrowed or purchased (£75). How can

we evaluate its effectiveness?

  2. OHW: 10/11/12 May event. Wood from the tree felling will be

used to make interpretation panels.

  1. Community Enhancement Suggestion to consider placing and

maintaining some Planters in the Shore Rd Park.

  1. Defibrillators May 9th fund raiser at bowling club. Money raised

will be used to buy components for the defib in the Bowling Club.

Upcoming events:

 Blossom Tea @ orchard. Sat May 3rd free event. 2-4pm. To include

singing.

 Primary school summer fair 30th May

 Stirling Orchestra Concert 17th May Albert Halls

Waverley Park – The new equipment has been installed.
