- Matters Arising
Speed restrictions
HM contacted Angela McGibbon at Stirling Council to ask about the 40mph limit between
Coldoch road and Smiddy then Smiddy to Roseburn Lane. ME said there is a new area
manager so HM to follow up with him. HM to forward Transport for Scotland email
regarding A84 traffic calming measures to other members of CC.
GI stated that not all of the Coldoch Road actions had been delivered (in response to the
petition of March 2023). GI to follow up.
Thornhill Recycling Station
EB had asked SC external funding officer about applying for a Community Pride grant to
improve the fencing here but advised that it would likely be unsuccessful for this kind of
purpose. A community clean-up has improved the area by removing weeds and broken
glass, and the remaining fencing appears secure.
Stirling Council admin grant
GT submitted the application, which was approved, but not received as yet.
Back Yetts heavy lorry access/blocking road
RC to follow up with the residents who brought up the matter to see how often it happens,
before escalating.

On 01/08/24 Police observed a vehicle in Thornhill, the driver of which was suspected to be under
the influence of alcohol. The vehicle initially failed to stop for Police before eventually pulling over.
After enquiry the driver was arrested and charged with failing to stop for Police, fail to provide
roadside breath sample, fail to provide station breath sample and drive with no insurance. He was
kept in Police custody until the next lawful day at court with a report being submitted to the fiscal.
