Dunsire and Partners’ development in Thornhill

Appeal date lapsed, nothing further to add.

Caldoch Road

No update at present, waiting on Stirling Council conducting a road survey.

HM updated the meeting on the Police Scotland Report.

Road Safety

On 22/02/25 Officers had cause to stop a vehicle on the A84 Blair Drummond. Officers found the

vehicle to have no MOT with the driver being issued a Conditional Offer of Fixed Penalty.

On 25/02/25 Officers had cause to stop a vehicle on the A84 Blair Drummond. The vehicle was

found to have defective tyres with the tread being below the minimum required. The driver was

issued with a Conditional Offer of Fixed Penalty.

On 27/02/25 Officers had cause to stop a vehicle on the A84 Blair Drummond. The driver was found

to have an expired / revoked driving licence. They are the subject of a report to the procurator

fiscal.

On 06/03/25 Officers were on patrol on the A84 Blair Drummond when they witnessed a vehicle

being driven in a careless manner. Driver was issued with a Conditional Offer of Fixed Penalty.

  1. Stirling County Councillor

GM announced that Stirling Council has finalised the budget for 2025/26. Two budget proposals

were presented by opposing Council parties. The revenue budget has been approved, and the

Capital budget has also been confirmed, with funds allocated for a new primary school in Callander.

GT advised the balance in the account is £501.02 at present. Application for debit card still

in progress.

The Community Council entered a discussion on the repair of the recycling centre in

Thornhill. It was agreed that EB should submit an application for funding to Stirling Council.

AR Report circulated prior to meeting and advised of the updates and changes received for

planning in the area.

  2. Traffic Issues - A84/Thornhill

No further update at present on traffic issues.

  1. Traffic Issues - Primary Schools

The Community Council proposed that the Thornhill and Blair Drummond Parent Council meet to

address safety concerns at the schools. A meeting will be arranged by EB.

The Community Council discussed the issue of pick-up and drop-off parking at Thornhill Primary

School and the limited parking availability. It was agreed that the Community Council would reach

out to Stirling Council to inquire about the possibility of expanding the car park at the Community

Hall.
