the correspondence and updating the social media site, she is very keen to help bring awareness to the

village and younger people about the community council and the benefits it has in Throsk and she is looking

forward to becoming more involved and helping with the local issues in the village.

  1. Police Report:

No police in attendance

  1. Councillors Report:

No councillor in attendance

  1. Planning -

Pretty quiet to date, nothing to report (WL).

  1. Any other Competent Business:

Admin Grant received this year 161.98 we still have minute taker to pay back money when the bank is

sorted out. (JM) and (WL) have been into the bank 3 times to date and this has still to be changed. (JM)

Hopefully this will be sorted soon. When we have the funds back up and running, we will be able to do some

things in the community and hopefully make a difference.

Trench at the end of the village (WL) Action will get in touch with Stephen Bly about a trench at the end of

the village road that is breaking up.

Winter volunteer scheme (WL) the scheme is running throughout the winter for the bad weather and snow,

we need a group leader to volunteer to work with volunteers to remove snow and ice and spread grit. Sand,

grit and shovels will be provided and high vis jackets. The aim is to keep pavements clear during the bad

weather. There is a form that can be filled in and we can request training etc. The group agreed that they

would like to help if and when possible, and see if we can get the young people involved. We do not have

salt bins in the village. We did request these previously but were told we do not qualify as there are no hills

in the village.

School Bus (WL) We raised an issue at the last meeting re the kids in the village who have to go to the end of

the village to get the bus. We need to get back to (CBH) re this issue Action (CBH)

(JM) suggested getting the head teacher from Fallin school and a councillor to walk this road and see the

difficulties the children are facing which includes crossing a busy road. Action (YD) to write to (CBH). The

mornings are getting darker and this will be an issue for the primary school kids.

Community Council Meeting (JM) attended a meeting re Community Councils and it seems all are having

similar issues; the council was reminded that all CCs are made up of volunteers. People are unhappy that

there is no office to go into to make complaints or speak to service officers as now everything is digitised.

The police also attended the meeting and assured everyone that there would be more presence from them.

Community Involvement (Res) – asked if there could be more community involvement and asked new

member (RL) how we can entice more young people to join and help in the community. (JM) Fallin are

setting up a community garden and would like Throsk to get involved. (Res) asked if there was a way we

could work together with Fallin, this may be good for both villages and make them stronger together. The

Eastern villages are looking into creating a forum where they can work together. Looking at options for

Christmas light. (Res) We could look at asking Bandeath Industrial Estate businesses for sponsorship as there

are no local shops or pubs in Throsk.

Next meeting will be held 7pm Tuesday 12 November 2024 Throsk Community Centre
