28/06/22 (7pm Private Residence/Zoom)

MINUTES

1. Attendees and Apologies

Attendees : Sharon Paterson, Matt McGrandles, John Buchan

Apologies : Barry McDonald, Fiona Rayfield, Annette Van Schalkwyk

2. Previous minutes from 03/05/22 – proposed by JB, seconded by MMcG

3. City Centre South Update

At a previous session the City Centre South project had discussed the proposed changes

within the Torbrex area.

 SP communicated with the project and there is still a plan to show the plans within

each community allowing further comments where appropriate

4. Police Reports

 Police report shows crime not at a worrying level and no major crime within the area

5. Planning Reports

a. Ice Rink – we are still awaiting an update on this, it had been hoped a decision would

be taken by end April, we believe this land may no longer be being considered by the

council for education purposes

b. Beechwood Pavilion – Stirling Petanque Club had expressed an interest to the CC in

this building with a view to running a café to cover costs and using the building for

equipment storage. TCC are very supportive at this time. It has however been noted

that the council have already ruled out this building being used as a café or nursery

due to the potential impact it could have on local parking.

6. Beechwood Park

 Nothing to report within the park at this time

7. Litter

 No update as yet from the previous meeting

8. Dog Fouling

 The problem appears to have abated for now, this item will remain on the agenda to

facilitate monitoring

9. CC Accounts

 MMcG proposed, JB Seconded, accounts have already been submitted to Stephen

Bly to facilitate the admin grant

10. Grit Bins

 Stirling Council Roads dept are looking for input on where Grit Bins should (and

should not) be located. Will share on fb and ask for community comment.

11. Recycling consultation

 We believe that with the new administration in place at Stirling Council the changes

to Recycling will be revisited – the CC would be keen to collate comments from the

community to ensure any changes are appropriate to what the community need

12. New Community Councillors

 We had some interest from the community to become a community councillor –

applications have been sent to Stephen Bly for checking with a view to co-opting

new members are the next meeting.

13. AOB

 JB to follow up on asking if any Scouts would be willing to do minute taking for the

CC
