Gerry McGarvey has worked throughout the UK, US, Africa and Ireland in Community Development. As a trained counsellor with over 30 years’ experience in Personal Development, Gerry has used these skills and a number of other therapeutic interventions as a practitioner with young people and also as part of the Learning and Development team for a national children’s charity based in Stirling.
Most recently, Gerry has worked in publishing as an editor, writer and researcher. He has contributed to the life of his own home community by being vice-chair of Gartmore Community Council, vice-chair of Gartmore Community Trust and a founding member of Gartmore Community Cinema. He is a proud member of Unison.
