How to vote

Electoral Registration, postal and proxy votes

You can register to vote in a number of ways:

The Electoral Registration Office for Central Scotland manages all voter registration.

Contact your local Electoral Registration Office to find out if you’re already registered to vote.

How to Vote

Once you're registered, you have three different ways to vote:

In-person

You can vote in person at your local polling station. This is often a nearby community centre or other public building in your area.

By Post

You can get further information on the Scottish Assessors Association website for Central Scotland.

By proxy

Voting by proxy means allowing somebody you trust to vote on your behalf. You will need to fill in a form and send it to arrive at the Electoral Registration Office by the deadline. You can get a form from the Scottish Assessors Association website's forms.
