Information for travelling people

The Gypsy/Travellers site at Bridgend Park, Craigforth, was opened in 1996. It is located one and a half miles from the centre of Stirling, just off the A84 trunk road.  It is easily accessed from Junction 10 (Stirling) of the M9.

Bridgend Park was initially chosen as it is close to a site that was previously used by Gypsy/Travellers and has good links to Stirling City Centre and the motorway network.

The site has 18 hard stand pitches, with each pitch able to hold one caravan and a van. Each pitch has access to a chalet with a toilet and washing facilities. One of the chalets is suitable for a wheelchair user. All caravans can be connected to an electricity supply. The site has a CCTV system in place.

A Travelling Persons Officer is based on the site Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5 pm. They can help you with any problems you may have during your stay.

If you are eligible, short-term stays at Bridgend Park of up to 10 nights are free of charge.  If you choose to stay longer than 10 nights, you will pay a weekly rent of £89.46.

The site provider must give you:

  • a written tenancy agreement
  • information about how to make a formal complaint about the site provider
  • information on your rights and responsibilities
  • information on how to operate the appliances and systems in the amenity block

How pitches are allocated

We have a waiting list for our pitches. When a pitch becomes available it will normally be let to the applicant who has been on the waiting list the longest.

However, if your application has the earliest date, but you already have a lease on another authorised site, we may look at applicants who do not have a site to stay on. They will be assessed as being in greater need for a place.

We will contact you if we are able to offer you a pitch. If we cannot get in touch with you, the offer will be made to the next applicant on the waiting list as long as there is no other applicant with greater need.
