An accessibility strategy has been developed for all nurseries, primary schools and secondary schools. The strategy sets the plan for areas of development in meeting the individual needs of children and young people who have a disability or additional support need (ASN).
The strategy is based on 3 principles:
- Physical access for all
- Communication access
- Curriculum access for children and young people with a disability or ASN
The strategy also cover the needs of parents and carers who may have a disability themselves, so that when they visit or communicate with their child’s school, they are supported to do so appropriately.
