Former Provost Paterson passed away earlier this month and his funeral took place at St Margaret’s RC Church. Following the service, the hearse passed by the Council headquarters at Old Viewforth where former colleagues and Council staff paid their respects, before travelling to Bannockburn Cemetery.

Provost Dodds, who was in attendance at the service, said: “The loss of John will be felt deeply by those who knew and loved him.

“He served the community with distinction during his tenure as the Provost of Stirling, where his commitment to public service was unquestionable.

“My heartfelt sympathies go out to his family, friends and former colleagues as we at Stirling Council honour his memory today.”
