'Proud yet poignant occasion'
Lord Provost Elaine Watterson said: “It’s just as important 80 years on as it was at the time to reflect on the sacrifices made during the Second World War that secured peace in Europe and the freedoms we still enjoy today.
“It was an honour to represent all the people of Stirling and lay flowers at today’s commemoration of VE Day. It was a proud yet poignant occasion as we marked this historic event.”
