The Royal British Legion Scotland (RBLS) in partnership with Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders Museum and Stirling Council arranged Stirling’s Armed Forces Day commemorations, which took place on Saturday (28 June).

Following a service that was hosted within the historic Stirling Castle attended by current and former serving members of the armed forces, a military parade made its way from the Castle down to King Street where personnel were addressed by Stirling Lord Provost, Elaine Watterson and Lord Lieutenant of Stirling and Falkirk, Colonel Charles Wallace.

The parade was led by the Balaklava Company (King’s Guard) 5 SCOTS who hold Freedom of the City of Stirling. Military motorbikes also featured in the parade with riders from RBLS in addition to Fir Chogaidh MCC.

Armed Forces Day is a UK-wide initiative to honour and celebrate the work of the armed forces and those who support them.

It aims to raise awareness about the contributions of the Royal Navy, Army, Royal Air Force, reservists, veterans, cadets and the wider armed forces community, including service families.
