Housing Land Audits are the established means for monitoring housing land. They have two key functions:
- to demonstrate the availability of sufficient effective land to meet the requirement for a continuous five-year supply; and
- to provide a snapshot of the amount of land available for the construction of housing at any particular time.
The Stirling Council Housing Land Audit provides a comprehensive description of all current sites for housing in the Stirling Council area outwith the Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park. It identifies all housing land on a site by site basis. All housing sites with a capacity of 4 or more dwellings are included; new build, as well as conversions and sub-divisions.
This information was vital to the preparation of the Local Development Plan and the Audit process enables adjustments to the supply to be made in response to issues identified.
