Storm Floris service disruptions

The following events and services in the Stirling Council area have been cancelled or rearranged due to the ongoing amber weather warning:

• Lower Polmaise Household Waste and Recycling Centre (HWRC) will be closed from 11am onwards. If you have a booking, you will receive an email from us.
  
  
• The National Wallace Monument will be closed today. Anyone who has booked a ticket will be offered a refund or an alternative date to visit.
  
  
• McLaren Leisure Centre in Callander will be closed today.
  
  
• Play in the Park event in Killearn Primary School will not go ahead today.
  
  
• The Trossachs explorer (TEX) service will not be operating today.

With the arrival of Storm Floris, the Met Office has issued an Amber Warning for strong winds across most of Scotland, including the Stirling Council area, with heavy rain also forecast.

The Amber Warning is in effect today, Monday 4 August 2025, from 10am until 10pm. A Yellow Weather Warning for strong winds is in place from 6am until midnight.

There is a high risk of disruption and travel conditions may be hazardous. Police Scotland has advised that extra caution should be taken by all road users and to plan ahead and avoid unnecessary travel.

In advance of the high winds, store or secure bins and outdoor items such as bins, garden furniture, trampolines, tents, sheds, and fences.
