Mentoring

We support young people who are care experienced aged 16-25 years old, providing them with a Mentor.  The Mentors are volunteers who will meet with the young people for approximately one hour a week to help them work towards their personal goals.

What is Mentoring

Mentoring is when a caring adult mentor builds a relationship with a young person that is built on trust and mutual respect.  Your mentor will be someone who:

  • Wants to be there for the young person
  • Will design the support with the young person
  • Will listen to what the young person wants and how they want to be supported
  • Will want to have fun

How to Volunteer?

As a mentor, you will volunteer to work with a young person weekly, supporting them for one hour a week to identify a goal and then work towards it. This goal can vary from getting back into education or employment or even just building in confidence.
