What is self-build housing?
Self-build housing is where an individual (whether acting alone or with other individuals) commissions or is personally involved in the design and construction of a dwelling that is intended to be the individual’s main residence once it is built.
Registering an interest in acquiring land for self-build housing
We invite you to register your interest by completing the registration form available through the link below.
How we will use your information
Upon receipt of responses, we will publish and maintain a self-build list here. The list will contain headline data on the demand for self-build house plots and the names of each individual or group seeking such plots. In line with the Data Protection Act 2018, other personal details and contact information will not be published.
Information collected will help the planning authority understand more about the demand for self-build plots across the Stirling Local Development Plan area, which will be taken into account in the preparation of the next Local Development Plan. Please be advised that registering interest does not guarantee that a suitable self-build plot will be identified by the Council, or become available.
!
Registrations of interest must be submitted by Friday 31 October 2025 to be considered in the preparation of the next Local Development Plan. The submission date is timed to coincide with the end of the public consultation period to inform the Proposed Plan as set out in the Council’s Local Development Plan Scheme.
