Before you begin

You'll need:

  • your bank account details
  • details of your child or children and the school(s) attended

If you know your National Insurance number or have a copy of your benefit letter these would be helpful, but they're not essential.

If you receive Child Tax Credit or Working Tax Credit, you need to attach or send us all the pages of your recent Tax Credit Award letter. This should be dated in the last 3 months and show your expected income.

Closing date for applications

If you want to apply for free school meals in the current school year, you must do this by 30 June 2023.
