Previous Project Progress
We asked for your views on parking issues in Stirling, to inform Stirling’s Community Parking Management Plan. We were interested in Stirling City’s Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ), which is the zone in the city where on-street parking is controlled.
We held public drop-in sessions in the Stirling Arcade, on the 6th and 19th September 2018, before the closure of the consultation period on Oct 5th. We also commissioned an independent parking survey.
See also: Stirling Council's Parking Policy for more information.
Taking into account the issues raised in the public consultation, together with the results of the independent parking survey, we then developed parking proposals for Stirling City based on a combination of desktop studies and parking master planning.
We have contacted households that will be affected by the proposals and relevant Community Councils or community groups, as well as businesses, asking for their views on these proposals.
More details regarding the proposed waiting restrictions can be found on the Proposed CPZ plan - View the proposed plan. (Please note, green boxes highlight proposed waiting restrictions and red boxes are current waiting restrictions).
What Happens Next?
After gathering your feedback, we will take the proposals to the Council's Environment and Housing Committee in Spring/Summer 2019.
If the Committee decides to introduce the proposals, there will be further opportunity for you to make comment during a statutory three-week consultation on the Traffic Regulation Order that is required to implement the CPZ. This is likely to take place later in the year.
